BATTERIES
There are different types of batteries available in the market that are used for energy storage. Two common battery types are lithium-ion NMC and lithium iron phosphate (LFP), which are also used by Powerwatt. At Powerwatt we attach great importance to carefully selecting proven technologies and we continuously stay informed of developments in the market regarding other forms of energy storage.
Lithium-ion NMC batteries, also known as lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide batteries, are known for their high energy density, long lifespan and excellent performance. They are commonly used in portable electronics, electric vehicles and energy storage systems. These batteries can store a large amount of energy and quickly release energy when needed.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are another popular type of battery used for energy storage. They are known for their high safety levels, long service life and excellent thermal stability. LFP batteries have a lower energy density than NMC batteries, but they are less susceptible to degradation at high temperatures. That is why they are often used in applications where safety and reliability are essential, such as electric vehicles, solar energy systems and emergency power supplies.
At Powerwatt we have carefully chosen these proven technologies because they meet our high standards for performance, reliability and safety. However, we also closely monitor the market for new developments and innovations in the field of energy storage. New battery technologies are constantly being developed, such as solid-state batteries and flow batteries, which show promise in terms of improved performance and lower costs. We will continue to monitor these developments to ensure that we can offer our customers the most advanced and efficient energy storage solutions.
CONTAINER BATTERIES
Container Batteries: The main sizes are 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, and the appropriate size is chosen based on needs. These batteries are designed with several features to ensure optimal performance:
+1. Climate control: The batteries are equipped with temperature and humidity control systems, making them suitable for use in various environments.
+2. Fire safety systems: Safety is a priority, which is why the batteries are equipped with fire safety systems, such as detectors and extinguishers, to minimize any fire risks.
+3. BMS and EMS: Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) ensure efficient energy management. The BMS monitors the status and performance of the batteries, while the EMS helps optimize energy consumption and distribution
+4. 4G connection: The batteries are equipped with a 4G connection, allowing them to communicate with external systems and be monitored and managed remotely.
+5. Cloud solution: Cloud-based solutions allow battery performance data to be stored and analyzed. This provides insight into usage and makes it possible to improve efficiency.
The container batteries are suitable for various applications, including:
+Grid balancing: Adjusting the energy output to keep the grid frequency within the correct bandwidth. 49.8Hz and 50.2Hz.
+Imbalance: Compensating for uneven loads in the electricity network to maintain stability.
+EPEX: Participating in trading on the energy market to benefit from price differences.
+Peak shaving: Reducing peaks in energy demand by using energy storage during periods of high demand.
+Load shifting: Shifting energy consumption to cheaper or more favorable times to optimize costs.
